Relocating to a new country with your family is not always an easy task. Regardless of the reasons you’re moving to Copenhagen, the most important thing is that your children thrive. Depending on which international school you choose for your children, Bomae can help you find and purchase suitable housing in the same neighbourhood or area as the school is located.

Benefits of attending an international school in Copenhagen

In order for the relocation not to be too big of a step for your children, choosing an international school is often a smart decision. The transition from their previous school to the new one will often be smoother, and your child will be able to participate from the first day.

As a parent, you can feel secure that your child gets a proper education with an international curriculum. Additionally, you will be able to take an active part in your child’s education and help with homework and assignments. Furthermore, many of the international schools in Copenhagen offer Danish as a subject in the curriculum. This allows your children to integrate with Danish society better, and explore their new place of residence on their own terms.

Another great advantage of attending an English-speaking school is the international environment with a diverse student population and ample opportunities to build a global network. Not only for your child, but also for you as parents. By attending social gatherings and events in school, you will be able to socialize with other parents and grow your social network in your new home country.

With this being said, regardless if your child understands the language or not, adjusting to a new school is never easy. Therefore, always offer your child support and listen to his or her concerns. Sometimes a certain school may not be the perfect fit for your child. Luckily, it’s possible to change to another one. In the following section, you will learn about some of the most popular English-speaking schools in the Copenhagen area.
