The Danish real estate market is an online business

Danish real estate websites are the central hub for buying, selling, and tracking property values. Denmark's four biggest real estate websites drive approximately 10 million monthly visitors, which is impressive considering the Danish population doesn't exceed 5.9 million.

So, what conclusions can we draw from this? Well, one thing is for sure. Danes are crazy about housing. Are you curious to know what all the fuss is about? Let's look at the four biggest Danish property websites in 2025.

Top 4 Most Popular Property Websites in Denmark (2025)

Boligsiden

With over 3 million visits per month, Boligsiden is the most visited property website in Denmark. The site is a so-called dedicated property listings page, meaning that it doesn't belong to a specific real estate company (for clarity, the realtor companies on #2, #3, and #4 all list their property on Boligsiden). As of January 2023, the website had more than 45 000 pieces of property listed for sale.

The majority of the property listings are residential houses and apartments. Still, there are rentals, agricultural properties, vacation houses, and building plots. In addition to house listings, Boligsiden provides real estate news, market statistics, how-to guides and much more. Visit boligsiden.dk

EDC

EDC is Denmark's biggest real estate agency, with 230 local offices across the country. Their website gets around 2.4 million visitors monthly, making it the second-largest property website in Denmark. In January 2023, the number of listings was roughly 45,000 in total, including private houses and apartments, commercial and agricultural properties and rentals. Visit edc.dk

Nybolig

Nybolig is the second largest real estate company in Denmark. Like their competitor EDC, they operate in all parts of the Danish Kingdom. Nybolig gets around 2 million visitors per month, making it the third-largest real estate platform in the country. Just like EDC, Nybolig only lists the agency's own property listing. However, with close to 45 000 pieces of property (ranging from private houses and apartments to commercial, farming and rental properties), you will have to scroll for quite some time before reaching the last property listed. Visit nybolig.dk

Home

As you might have guessed, Home is Denmark's third-largest real estate agency. So naturally, they take fourth place on the list of Denmark's most popular property websites, with 1.7 million monthly visitors. Home differs from the previous two agencies because they have a much stronger focus on residential properties (hence the company name). Home’s website is both user-friendly and nice looking. At the moment, roughly 45,000 pieces of property are listed for sale. Visit home.dk

How to navigate Danish property websites as a non-Danish speaker

To find your new dream home in Denmark, you must learn how to browse the property listings on the major realtor websites. However, this is often easier said than done since not a single one of the biggest sites offers English options. But don't worry. You don't have to learn Danish. With the help of a few useful phrases and expressions, you can find what you are looking for.

Find your way around the Danish Real Estate websites

When visiting a Danish property website, you should start by looking for a menu option or search bar called something of the following:

Danish - English

  • Køb bolig - Buy a home
  • Søg boliger - Search for homes
  • Boliger til salg or Ejendom til salg - Homes for sale / Property for sale
  • Leje or Boliger til leje - Rental / Homes for rent

In the omnipresent search bar (there will be one), you type in the name of the area where you wish to buy a house or an apartment. It could be a city like Copenhagen (København in Danish), a specific neighborhood, the name of a street or a larger island or region, like Bornholm or Midtjylland. If you haven't yet decided where you want to live in Denmark, there's also a map option.

Filters

Once you have found the right listings page (with property for sale) and preferred area, it’s time to narrow down your search results using filters. The first and most important filter is the type of property you seek.

Danish / English

  • Boligtyper - Property types
  • Villa - House (both normal houses and mansions)
  • Lejlighed or ejerlejlighed - Apartment
  • Rækkehus - Terraced house
  • Fritidshus - Vacation house

The options may vary depending on what property website you are using. However, many filters are found on all of them, such as price range (pris), living area and plot area (størrelse), number of rooms (værelser) and floors (etage).

Another useful filter is Liggetid, which basically tells you how long the property has been for sale. For example, suppose the property listing was published over a year ago. In that case, it could indicate something is wrong.

I have found my Danish dream house! What’s the next step?

Once you have found your ideal home on a property website, it’s time to contact a professional buyer’s agent. Much can be understood using translation apps and common sense, but far from all. Moreover, buying property in Denmark comes with some unique challenges due to the highly regulated market and competitive buying process.

By consulting a buyer’s agent, you will get help navigating the strict rules for inspections, financing and transfer of ownership. In addition, you will have a dedicated agent handling the bidding process on your behalf. Having a native Danish speaker representing you will not only overbridge the language barrier, it will also provide you with unique insights about the Danish real estate market.

At Bomae we have some of the most experienced buyer’s agents in Denmark, ready to assist you with your house purchase.

Buyer advisory is a service designed for you as a buyer when you're searching for your dream home and want to ensure everything is handled correctly. A buyer advisor guides and supports you throughout the entire purchasing process—whether you're buying a house or an apartment. With buyer advisory, you can often save money and avoid worries, as the advisor helps negotiate terms and prices.

At Bomae, our buyer advisors are dedicated to representing you as the buyer and ensuring an easy and transparent process. Our team has experience from the real estate, legal, and financial sectors, which guarantees you a safe and thorough buying experience.

You should consider using a buyer advisor when:

    • You are buying a home for the first time
    • You want to secure the best possible price
    • You want to avoid unpleasant surprises
    • You need help understanding complex documents
    • You want a safe and secure buying process

Buyer advisory covers the entire process from property search to takeover, while a buyer's agent specifically handles negotiations and property valuation. At Bomae, we offer both as part of our comprehensive buyer advisory service.

The cost of buyer advisory varies depending on the advisor you choose and the specific terms they offer. However, in many cases, you save more on price reductions for the property than the cost of the advisory service. Working with a professional can therefore be a smart investment, as they know the entire buying process from start to finish and can ensure you get the best result.

At Bomae, we have brought all aspects of the home-buying process under one roof and offer a tailored solution for you. Our prices start at DKK 7,495.

There can be significant savings with buyer advisory! The results vary from case to case and advisor to advisor.

At Bomae, we can only speak from our own experience, and here, we achieve an average of 48% better price reductions than the market. This means that you could potentially save a lot of money by getting professional advice throughout the entire buying process.

No, at Bomae, we've brought everything under one roof. Our legal advisors, all of whom are trained lawyers, assist you with the crucial phase of your property purchase.

A property purchase involves many legal documents that can be complex to understand if you're not working with them daily. That's why it's often a good idea to get help from a professional who can provide the necessary advice. While it's not a requirement, it makes the process easier and ensures that you don't overlook important details in the purchase agreement.

If you wish to withdraw from a property deal after signing the purchase agreement, there may be financial consequences. With professional buyer advisory, we ensure that the right contingencies are included in the purchase agreement, giving you the option to back out without significant costs if issues are discovered.

Yes, most clients find that the investment in buyer advisory pays for itself many times over:
